Poland

YOUR DREAM JOB AWAITS!

Poland is a Central European nation with a total area of 312,696 square kilometers and 16 administrative divisions. Along with sharing maritime borders with Denmark and Sweden, it shares land borders with Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia. Poland’s low unemployment rate, high wages, and affordable cost of living influence hundreds of people each year to work and settle there. There is a high demand for foreign workers in many professions.

The Polish Work Visa/Permit

The employment visa (National Visa, D Type) is issued by the Polish consulate in their country’s closest city. Regional agencies like Royal Travancore are responsible for issuing work permits, which have a minimum validity of one year. Companies that wish to employ foreign nationals must submit an employment application to the department of foreign nationals in the voivodeship where the company is registered. The invited person is legally permitted to live and work in Poland and to visit the Schengen Area for 90 days in any six-month period. The refusal of the visa application is prevented by the consulate’s subordination to Voivode (Governor).

Types of Work Permits

  • A – when the foreign employee works for a Polish company
  • B – when the foreign employee serves as a general partner, a proxy, or fulfils a role on a management board.
  • C – when the foreign employee is employed by a non-Polish employer but is transferred for a period of time exceeding 30 days to a branch or facility in Poland.
  • D – when the foreign employee is employed by a non-Polish employer and sent to Poland to carry out a service, such as an export service.
  • E – If the foreign worker is employed by a non-Polish company and is sent to Poland for a period of time longer than 3 months in the upcoming 6 months for a reason other than those previously mentioned.
  • S – seasonal work permit that is issued by Starost upon a request from an employer.

Application Process

The prospective employer must complete a work permit application with the applicant’s name, the name of the business they will be working for, and their position within that business in order to obtain a work permit.

The fact that the work permit is only good for the specific business and job has significant ramifications. The candidate’s new employer will have to go through the procedure of applying for a new work permit for him if he decides to leave the company and seeks employment elsewhere.
